Which Thailand calculator you need, and when
Thai personal finance has a small number of rules that decide most outcomes, and they are not the ones people expect. These tools are built around those rules rather than around generic formulas, which is why there is a separate calculator for cases that look similar from outside.
If you are working out tax
Start with the personal income tax calculator for the 2569 tax year. Thai tax is progressive across eight bands: the first 150,000 baht of net income is exempt, and the rate steps up from 5% to a top rate of 35% on income above 5,000,000. Only the money inside each band pays that band's rate, so crossing a threshold never reduces what you keep — a misunderstanding that costs people promotions.
A bonus is taxed as ordinary income, not at a separate rate, but it lands on top of your salary and can push part of your year into a higher band — which is why the bonus calculator exists separately. VAT is a different question again: adding 7% to a price and extracting 7% from a price that already includes it are not the same arithmetic, and the second is where most errors happen.
If you are not sure Thailand can tax you at all
Use the tax residency calculator first. Anyone present in Thailand for 180 days or more between 1 January and 31 December is a Thai tax resident for that year, whatever their nationality, and the days need not be consecutive. For foreign income the test applies to the year the income arose, not the year you bring it in — so this is the calculator to run before, not after, you move money.
If you are an employee
Net salary shows what actually reaches your account after tax and social security. Social security contributions are a percentage of wages up to a ceiling, and that ceiling rose in 2026, so figures calculated on the old cap are now wrong. Overtime is paid at statutory multiples that differ for ordinary days, holidays, and holiday overtime, which is why one multiplier will not do.
Severance is the one people most often underestimate. It is a legal entitlement under the Labour Protection Act, scaled by years of continuous service, and the top tier reaches 400 days of wages for twenty years or more — not a negotiation.
If you are planning for later
The provident fund calculator projects what your contributions and your employer's match grow into. Social security pension is a separate entitlement with its own formula, and the two are not alternatives — most employees will have both. The retirement calculator puts a target number against them.
Every tool here is free, runs entirely in your browser, and stores nothing. Tax and labour figures cite the Revenue Department or the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare on each page, with the year they apply to.
